municipality of Bijelo Polje, 90 within Berane municipality and 24 in Petnjica.<\/p>\n<p>The longest Montenegrin cave, the cave above the devil\u2019s sinkholes (17,5 km) is located in the municipality of Bijelo Polje, and there are eight caves longer than a thousand meters in the researched area. Three of them are in the area of Bijelo Polje and one in the area of Berane.<\/p>\n<h2>\u0110alovi\u0107 cave or The cave above the devil&#8217;s sinkholes<\/h2>\n<p>The site called devil\u2019s sinkholes is located on the way upstream through the \u0110alovi\u0107 gorge (a protected natural habitat), on the western border of the Pe\u0161ter highland, three kilometers after the Podvr\u0161ka church. Above the sinkholes, gradationally connected cavities filled with water, at the altitude of 820 meters, an entrance to the grandest Montenegrin cave, one of the most beautiful ones in Europe too, is situated.<\/p>\n<p>The cave above the devil\u2019s sinkholes (\u0110alovi\u0107 cave) is the longest cave in Montenegro and after 25 years of research, more than 17 km have been explored.<\/p>\n<p>This cave is made of a larger number of channels, corridors and chambers. The path through the cave, starting from the vast entrance, leads through the inhospitable \u201cChannel with lakes\u201d. There are 15 permanent and between 20 and 30 periodical lakes in the channel. Then, a Large Maze and Small Maze follow, a network of some 15 channels in different sizes. Many believe this to be the most beautiful part of the cave, reason being the largest collection of cave decorations of different shapes and colors. The Grand Channel dominates over every other part of the cave. Its average width is around 8 meters, although it can go up to 20, the average height is 20 meters, but it can reach even 60 meters in some places, so you can even place a 20-story- building inside.\u00a0 An enormous chamber called \u201cThe Cathedral\u201d deserves a special admiration due to the large stalagmite, whose height is around 18 meters. This is the largest stalagmite in the cave, even though there are several of them with the height of 10 meters.<\/p>\n<p>The fourth part is located behind the siphon. It abounds in water but it also has a sizeable concentration of cave decorations. The Christal Chamber takes a special place, with its beautiful and rare cave sediments. This part is also a home of a lovely 6 \u2013 meter- high waterfall.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The largest lake: \u201cThe Long Lake\u201d \u2013 220 meters<\/li>\n<li>The highest stalagmite: \u201cThe Monolith\u201d \u2013 18 meters, approximately the height of a 6 \u2013 story- building<\/li>\n<li>The largest chamber: \u201cThe Big Brother\u201d, length 100 meters, width 40 meters, the size of a football stadium<\/li>\n<li>The longest channel: \u201cThe Long Channel\u201d \u2013 around 5 kilometers<\/li>\n<li>The longest siphon: \u201cCzech\u201d \u2013 70 meters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The cave is a world set in a complete darkness, with a temperature of 8 to 12 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>\u0110alovi\u0107 gorge, a home of the entrance to the \u0110alovi\u0107 cave, is a protected nature area, in the category of \u201cNature Monument\u201d, the NATURA 2000 Emerald area, and it has also been recognized as an ecologically significant site. The surface of the protected area is 1,600 hectares.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Radmanske caves<\/h2>\n<p>The easiest way to reach Radmanska gorge (around 1,000 meters above sea level) is from a place called Petnjica, through the village Radmanci. The gorge is 5 km away from Petnjica.<\/p>\n<p>Six caves have been explored in the Radmanska gorge. These are not long, around 50 meters in length but they have an extraordinary archeological and scientific, as well as tourist, significance.<\/p>\n<p>Torine site, with its famous walled-up cave or fortification, is believed to be the most valuable and the richest site in Montenegro, from the Early Bronze Age \u2013 the Neolithic (between the third and second millennia before Christ), by many experts.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium\"><\/div><div class=\"w-sharing type_outlined align_none color_default\"><div class=\"w-sharing-list\" data-content-image=\"true\"><a class=\"w-sharing-item email\" href=\"mailto:?subject=The+pastures+of+Bihor,+Moravac+and+Pe\u0161ter&amp;body=https:\/\/www.katunroads.me\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/6933\" title=\"Email this\" aria-label=\"Email this\"><i class=\"fas fa-envelope\"><\/i><\/a><a class=\"w-sharing-item facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/sharer\/sharer.php?u=https:\/\/www.katunroads.me\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/6933&amp;quote=The+pastures+of+Bihor,+Moravac+and+Pe\u0161ter\" title=\"Share this\" aria-label=\"Share this\" onclick=\"window.open(this.href, &quot;facebook&quot;, &quot;toolbar=0,width=900,height=500&quot;);
